Music and dance blend beautifully when The Grand Ukrainian Ballet visits MCH Herning Kongrescenter on January 23, 2025, to perform the world-renowned classical ballet Swan Lake. Witness a compelling story of impossible love, composed by Pyotr I. Tchaikovsky, filled with spectacular dances presented in the finest style by a professional ballet ensemble.

The ensemble is led by artistic director Rimma Wachsmann, who says:

“It is both an honor and a heartfelt mission to shape The Grand Ukrainian Ballet to high achievements.”

With this ensemble of handpicked dancers, she aims not only to celebrate the rich tradition of classical ballet but also to offer a sign of hope and a new beginning for talented Ukrainian stars in Europe.

Alongside Rimma Wachsmann is Marukyan Razmik, a world-renowned ballet dancer and co-producer of the tour, playing a key role in shaping the project with his expertise and passion for the performing arts. Grand Ukrainian Ballet combines the highest level of perfection and impressive aesthetics to create a top-class ballet experience.

“We are convinced that the art of ballet speaks a language that can connect people across cultural and geographical boundaries,” says Marukyan Razmik.

A Battle Between Light and Dark

The ballet tells the story of young Prince Siegfried, who falls in love with the white swan princess Odette but is also drawn to her dark counterpart, Odile. One symbolizes purity and poetry, the other seduction and corruption. Swan Lake is the ultimate passion drama about the struggle between the forces of light and darkness, between good and evil, love and hate. Nearly 150 years after its creation, this ballet still captivates a modern audience.
