Christmas in Søby Old Coal Town
December 7th and 8th, 2024, from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
For the sixth time, a Christmas market is being organized at the museum.
A year ago, it almost became too much Christmas. After a great Saturday, we had so much snow that the Danish Road Directorate advised against all travel. However, the challenges only persisted during the early morning hours, and as usual, I cycled to Søby. Despite the warning, which kept people at home, they could have easily ventured out by mid-morning.
This year, we hope guests will show up in large numbers, regardless of the weather. We have gone all out to make the event even better – with more stands. New this year, you can buy products such as Aloe Vera, Christmas trees, and various items in iron and wood carved with a chainsaw.
On Saturday, Rosie Borst from Mindelundgaard Farm Shop will be selling potatoes, beets, red and yellow onions, dahlia bulbs, and venison sausage.
Children can write a wish list to Santa Claus, who will give them a small gift. For the kids, there is also juice and marshmallows, which they can toast over a fire themselves.
